About us

Our story is pretty simple.  BizVet advisory services came about as the result of personal experiences at our own small business level.  Through these personal experiences (actually frustrations) we saw there was a real need to help clients navigate the process of buying and selling a business.  Most business sales are handled through brokers or seller representative agents.  Our experience is that the process is highly variable, and generally quite complex depending on the type of business, the information available and the quality of the business broker.  We don't believe the market for selling small businesses is well organised or well structured.

As well as supporting buyers and sellers navigate the sale process, we support small business by providing business review and planning services. We appreciate the specific needs and issues of small business owners and we have the skills and experience to quickly assess business positioning and develop strategies for sustainable and profitable performance.  Our management experience spans all functional areas of business including sales, marketing and market activation, new product development and research, finance, administration, manufacturing, HR, customer service, quality and compliance safety, supply chain and logistics.

Meet our Principal Advisor

Daryl Bird

Principal, BizVet Advisory Services

Daryl brings over 25 years experience working with small to medium sized businesses across multiple industries and various categories. Daryl has been the CEO of two ASX listed companies and has also lead various privately owned and Private Equity owned businesses. Daryl's management experience spans the full spectrum of key operational functions including sales & marketing, HR, finance and adminstration, supply chain, product and service develoment, manufacturing and logistics. Daryl has worked with both local and globally based businesses and has much experience across the APAC region. Daryl has a B.App.Sc and post graduate Dip.Ed. Daryl is an active member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has held various directoral roles with both listed and private companies.

Daryl has an innate ability to quickly assess business positioning and the key drivers and to be able to develop strategies to grow business bottom line. Daryl has worked extensively across both product and service industry models. This places Daryl in a great position to be able to support most types of small business aspiring to grow and develop or transform current practices and processes. Daryl is both innovative and challenging in approach and has a strong track record of business transformation and development.

Daryl has many years of experience acquiring and divesting businesses and is expert at assessing business value, preparing businesses for sale and undertaking due diligence on potential targets.
